By Air

The two major airports in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale areas are Miami International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Be mindful during hurricane season from June to November, as this may affect travel itineraries, flights, and safety. 

By Car

Both Miami and Fort Lauderdale have several car rental companies to choose from. Look up directions ahead of time and be mindful of the defensive driving style needed on Miami roadways.

Public Transit

Miami has a Metrorail and Metromover system while Fort Lauderdale has a bus system. Be mindful that their routes take longer to get to different destinations. Both cities also have a shared bike program that can be a fun way to get around.
