Tequila time: Deals and doings for Margarita Day, from Miami to West Palm Beach

It’s time to get your salt lick on.

National Margarita Day is Friday, Feb. 22 and — as you can imagine — anything commonly shaken with ice is a huge hit here in the subtropics.

So we’ve gathered up a bunch of places in South Florida where you and tequila can become one.

222 Taco

222 Taco (the name itself pays homage to Feb. 22) will debut Friday something they are calling La Margarita Shop. Starting at 12:22 p.m. and then every hour on the :22, La Margarita Shop will sample a different free cocktail from a margarita menu. So while you dine you can enjoy something like Fresa Verde with Montelobos Mexcal, Banannarita with Olmeca Altos Reposado or a Paloma 2.0 with Milagro Silver.

Bahama Breeze

Bahama Breeze will once again offere its Classic Margarita all day for $2.22 on Thursday, Feb. 21 and Friday, Feb. 22. (usually costs $7.29).

Bokamper’s Sports Bar and Grill

Locations in Fort Lauderdale, Plantation, Miramar, Naples and Estero. Bokampers.com.

It’s buy one, get one free of the Bo’s Big Rita margarita, $18.99, at all of the locations. Flavors include original, strawberry, mango, peach or blueberry.

The Butcher Shop Beer Garden and Grill — West Palm Beach and Miami

Margaritas are usually $12, but on National Margarita Day they will be $5.

Calaveras Cantina

This Mexican restaurant in Jupiter’s Harbourside Place is offering El Jimador Margaritas all days for $6.

Cantina Beach

This eatery located inside the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne will have two mini margaritas for $10, a JumboRita for $20 and guacamole and two margaritas for $25.

Cantina Laredo

Located in the Village at Gulfstream Park, this Mexican restaurant will have its Casa Rita margarita for $5 (the regular price is $8.25). There will also be the Tajín Watermelon Rita for $12.25 that is made of cucumber chili tequila, blood orange liqueur, muddled watermelon, lime juice, lemon juice, agave nectar, tajín and then garnished with two watermelon cubes.

Casa Sensei

The Dragon Margarita at this self-described pan-Asian, Latin fusion eatery is half price all day (normally $12). The Dragon Margarita is made of Avion Tequila, Thai chili peppers, blood orange puree, yuzu juice, orange bitters and spiced rum.

Elements in 1 Hotel South Beach

On National Margarita Day, Steven Minor (the beverage director at 1 Hotel) and Kristin Clark (national mixologist for Casamigos) will host a mixology workshop at Elements, the upstairs bar at the restaurant Habitat from 7-9 p.m. Tickets are $40. To order, go to Exploretock.com/1hotelsouthbeach.

This restaurant’s Sorrell Margarita will cost $8 (normally $12) on National Margarita Day.

Il Bellagio Italian Restaurant

Il Bellagio in West Palm Beach’s CityPlace is offering their Italian Margarita (Sauza Gold Tequila, Dekuyper Amaretto, lime juice, triple sec and sour mix) for $5 all day (usually $10).

La Cerveceria de Barrio

All day both South Beach locations will have margaritas for $6.95 (normally $14-$17).

La Moderna

This restaurant has Tommy’s Spicy Margarita — made with El Jimador Silver Tequila, lime juice, agave and jalapeno — for $8 (normally $14).

Lona Cocina y Tequileria

This Mexican hot spot inside the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort will have two-for-one margaritas all day, including the signature Lona Margarita for $10.

Lulu’s Bait Shack

Located in the Gallery at Beach Place, Lulu’s is have a BOGO sale on margaritas all day. House margaritas are $7, Joe Quervo margaritas are $8 and Don Julio 188 margaritas are $9.50. If you want to add Grand Marnier or Cointreau, there will be a $3 upcharge.

Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort

You can bet Margarita Day is a big deal at Margaritaville. The resort is offering their signature “Who’s to Blame” margarita for $5.99 (normally $8.95) in the on-site dining/drinking venues Margaritaville restaurant, LandShark Bar and Grill, Lone Palm Beach Bar and 5 O’clock Somewhere Bar and Grill. And there’s a free, first-come-first-served tequila tasting from 6-8 p.m. at JWB Prime Steak and Seafood.

Maya’s Grill

Oh! Mexico

The classic margarita will be $6.95 all day (normally $12.95).

Republica Bar and Lounge

This bar in the North Hotel Key West is adding a margarita to its drink menu with the Avocado Cilantro Margarita with pink Himalayan salt for $12.

Rocco’s Tacos and Tequila Bar

Locations in Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, West Palm Beach and Palm Beach Gardens. RoccosTacos.com.

Among the many choices will be the Margarita for Multiple Sclerosis, $11.75, where a portion of the proceeds from the sale will go to the National MS Society. The MS Miracle Margarita is made of One With Life Tequila organic tequila, Cedilla Acai Liqueur, agave nectar and lime juice.

The Margarita for Multiple Sclerosis at Rocco's Tacos restaurants is also a fundraiser for the disease. Team Rocco will also participate in the Walk MS on Feb. 24 and on that day the Margarita for Multiple Sclerosis will be selling for $9.25 a glass and $23 per pitcher.

Seek + Find Kitchen and Bar

There will be two-for-one special pricing from 4-8 p.m. with this restaurant’s launch — not even on the menu yet — of the Gunsmoke margarita (made with Cazadores reposado tequila, Mezcal de joven, lime juice, Cointreau, chickpea, applewood and black lava salt). There will also be an alternative margarita called the Day of the Dragon (made with Casamigos Ańejo, dragon fruit puree, Grand Marnier, orange juice, lemon juice, agave and spicy margarita salt). The cocktails will normally be $12, so with the BOGO pricing on Friday they are $6.

Shooters Waterfront

A special margarita made with Altos Olmeca, mango puree, lime juice and Hellfire bitters will be $6 (normally $12) from 4-7 p.m.

Toro Toro

This restaurant inside the InterContinental hotel will have three of their signature margaritas for $7 each (normally $14). And guests can enjoy Del Maguey flights — mezcal from different villages — for $15.

Township Fort Lauderdale

This downtown Fort Lauderdale restaurant will host the “3rd Annual Margarita Festival” on Saturday, March 2 from 5-8 p.m. There will be unlimited samples from more than 20 vendors, music from DJ Vinny Venditto, a variety of street taco stations for sale along with other cocktails and beverages. Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the door. VIP tickets are $50. To order tickets, go to FortLauderdaleMargaritaFest.com.

W South Beach’s Living Room

Special for Margarita Day, The Living Room has created the Pineapple Roast for $14 (drinks are usually $17). The Pineapple Roast is made of Reposado Tequila, roasted pineapple juice, lime, Ancho Reyes, George Chili, agave and then garnished with half smoked pineapple wheel and tajín rim.
