National Dog Day is quickly approaching on August 26th, and more hotels and restaurants are creating special menus and programming for our four-legged friends.

Dog-Friendly Hotels 

The Marker Key West Harbor Resort - Pups in Paradise (pictured)

Celebrate Puppy Love at The Marker Key West Harbor Resort. The property provides the opportunity to show their love to their pooch with a getaway fit for a man’s best friend. Upon arrival, pets receive a customized welcome bag loaded with goodies like toys, treats, and a Marker Key West pet tag, in addition to champagne for adults. During their stay, pets are treated to puppy turndown service, and, upon request, walks along Smathers Beach, a spa session at a local pet spa, and even a beautiful dinner under the stars with multicourse dog food menu. The phrase “doggie paddle” takes on new meaning when you embark on an excursion with Lazy Dog. The adventure company welcomes four-legged adventurers on its paddleboards, kayaks and pontoon boats. To finish out the trip, take in Key West’s magnificent sunset with your pooch.

THesis Hotel

Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort

At Sandestin® Golf and Beach Resort, four-legged family members can join travelers on vacation. With tons of walking trails and miles of sugar sand beaches, there are lots of options to explore to keep both you and Fido entertained. Marina Bar & Grill is pet friendly as well as the Village of Baytowne Wharf. The resort also has a Bark Park, which is a safe, clean environment located near the Treehouse between the Village of Baytowne Wharf and the Baytowne Marina.  Sandestin’s own pet resident, feathered friend Maryann the Macaw resides at Marina Bar & Grill. Stop by for a bite at the restaurant and make sure to visit Maryann in her habitat.

The Gabriel Miami 

The Gabriel Miami is a 129-key lifestyle hotel in Downtown Miami, offering spacious rooms and suites, Satori Spa, 10,000 sq. ft. of meeting space and views of Biscayne Bay. For pets checking into The Gabriel, they’ll receive a “Doggy Bag'' welcome amenity that includes an assortment of treats and toys. Once they arrive in the guestroom, they’ll be greeted with a branded dog bowl, mat and plush dog bed. For good doggies, the hotel provides pups with curated turndown service, offering an evening treat bedside. The hotel team has a curated puppy itinerary with suggested off-property walking areas including Bicentennial Park located directly across the street. The itinerary also includes pet-friendly dining options in the area. There is a $50 Pet Fee, Per Pet and a 65 lbs weight restriction.

The Balfour Miami: Sandy Paws Package

Don’t leave Tito behind! At The Balfour Hotel Miami Beach, we understand how important your furry friends are, and are proud to offer dog-friendly accommodations and amenities for your four-legged family members. When you book our Ocean Sandy Paws offer, your furry friend will receive a goodie bag upon arrival with the following: a portable water bowl, dog treat, dog toy, doggy bags, and a clip-on doggy bag dispenser.  The package also includes a treat for the owner, a waived pet fee of $150 for the length of stay. Hillsboro Beach Resort

Hillsboro Beach Resort welcomes guests and their furry friends to enjoy luxury beachside accommodations. Up to two pets – dogs under 25 pounds – can stay at the resort with a $100 fee at check-in and may be walked in designated areas. For an additional fun amenity, guests can book a pet concierge to walk their dog, whether they are away from the resort or simply lounging at its private beach. While guests enjoy international cuisine at the newly opened oceanfront restaurant Roí, their pups can indulge in a “Barkuterie board,” another amenity available upon request for pets to chow down a spread of treats on a board – charcuterie style.

The Gabriel South Beach

The Gabriel South Beach, a luxury boutique property located on Ocean Drive, welcomes pets for a $150 nonrefundable fee. Located across from Lummus Park and the beach, The Gabriel South Beach makes for an ideal location for guests and their pets to enjoy the sunshine and ocean breeze on a leisure stroll in South Beach.
